Passenger Vehicles account for the highest number of incidents, followed by Station Wagons/SUVs and Sedans, which suggests that the most common private vehicles on the road are also the most frequently involved in crashes. The presence of bicycles and motorcycles although numerically at a lower number highlights the vulnerability of smaller, less protected road users in high traffic settings.

This bar graph displays the distribution of vehicle registrations involved in crashes, categorized by where the vehicles were registered. With New York City registered vehicles accounting for the highest number of 800. This suggests that local residents are involved in more collisions than out of state drivers or tourists.

Heatmap of Initial Impact vs. Major Vehicle Damage

This heatmap visualizes the relationship between the initial point of impact and the primary area of vehicle damage during accidents. In many cases, the location of the impact corresponds directly to where the major damage occurs. The data shows that the most common type of impact is to the center front of the vehicle, which also results in the highest frequency of damage to that same area. This suggests that front-end collisions are the most common and lead to damage in the front section.
